Active Kids Group have opened tours at our child care centre located in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Active Kids World Square, our child care centre in Sydney CBD, has been operating for 15 years and is driven by a strong, dedicated team of long serving educators. Our day care centre coordinator, Evelyn Frawley, has worked with Active Kids World Square since February 2011.
Active Kids World Square and World Tower have recently been rated âExceedingâ National Quality Standards by the Australian Childrenâs Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
At our day care in Sydneyâs CBD, we engage with our local community and encourage visits from the Navy, Police, Fire and Rescue along with dentists, doctors and members of the Indigenous community. We invite a number of external incursions to come and visit our service including Reptile shows, Braveheartâs and Bandage Bear. We also take the children on excursions to events such as NAIDOC in the Park, Lunar New Year in World Square and also to Castlereagh Fire Station where the children get a chance to meet members of the CBD community first hand.
Our early education centre also celebrates a variety of different events throughout the year which reflect all of our World Square familiesâ backgrounds and the surrounding community.
Active Kids World Square consists of a purpose-built nursery and preschool centre complete with natural environments, a museum, an art and craft room as well as a community library. Each room is warm, inviting, bright and structured to assist each individual child to learn, investigate, discover and explore. At this early learning centre in Sydney CBD, we have separate modern cot rooms for our under twoâs and toilet training facilities for our over twoâs. Our extended family consists of fish and other sea creatures including yabbies.
Our large outdoor area features a spectacular natural garden where we also care for our rabbits Hip and Hop as well as budgies, rainbow lorikeets and parrots.

Child Care Subsidy Update
Recent changes have been made to the Child Care Subsidy that will be affecting families attending our Active Kids Group day care centres in Sydney. Services Australia will pay a higher subsidy to families with more than one child in care and remove the annual cap for all families who get CCS.
ANNUAL CAP:
Families earning more than $190,015 have an annual subsidy cap of $10,655 per child each financial year.
From 10 December 2021 the annual cap will be removed for all families who get CCS. This means families will continue to receive the subsidy for the whole financial year and it will not run out as previously some families may have experienced.
FAMILIES WITH MORE THAN ONE CHILD IN CARE:
Under the new changes, families with two or more children in an early learning centre in Sydney under five years old may be able to receive an additional 30 per cent, up to a maximum of 95 per cent on top of the current Child Care Subsidy for their second child and younger children.
The increased subsidy comes into effect on March 7, 2022, four months earlier than originally planned. From this date, around 250,000 Australian families will receive the increase to the Child Care Subsidy.
To be eligible, families need two or more children aged five years and under in a day care in Sydney, at the same time, and need to have a household income of less than $354,305 a year.
For families with two or more children in care, the extra Child Care Subsidy will stop as soon as the eldest child hits primary school.
A family earning $110,000 a year with two kids in an early education centre in Sydney, four days a week, will be better off by around $100 each week.
Families already getting CCS do not need to do anything to receive the higher subsidy. Services Australia will automatically increase the CCS for eligible second and younger children. Families should contact Services Australia if their circumstances change.

COVID 19 Update
Active Kids Group are committed to protecting the health and safety of our Active Kids Group children, family and teams. At our child care centres in Sydney, Â we are continuing to take advice from the Commonwealth and State Departments of Health and Education, and acting on that advice accordingly.
We are continuing to practice good hygiene and physical distancing (where possible). We have:
- Intensified regular cleaning procedures
- Have hand sanitiser available at numerous locations throughout all our services
- Children have their temperature checked
- Designated drop off and pick up areas
- Thorough cleaning of objects and surfaces across all of our services
- Upholding face mask advice from the government

Please if you or your child have any COVID symptoms please do not attendâŻor visit our child care centres in Sydney until your symptoms pass.âŻIf someone in your household has tested positive to COVID-19, is a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case and/or is awaiting a COVID-19 test result, please contact your service coordinator immediately. We will keep in contact with you on when it is safe to return.
