Across our childcare centres in Sydney we like to conduct Parent play-based learning workshops which are a nice way to highlight to families the importance of learning through play. Our workshops showcase what we do to not only assist and support children during play but to scaffold this learning by trying to make sense of their world by interacting and questioning their environment.

When given the opportunity children often copy adult roles and start to experiment simply by participating socially. Play based learning facilitates this participation in many of the cultural and social contexts from shopping, to cooking and most importantly socialising with each other. Our childcare educators use ‘Play based learning’ to support creative thinking and to extend on child-initiated play in more natural surroundings. During our workshops we encourage families to participate along with their child mainly to showcase the importance of exploring experiences related to science, math, technology and creativity.

The benefits of ‘Play based learning’ is that it supports the inclusion of all children during play and helps children offer constructive ways to build a caring, fair and inclusive learning community.

If you’re looking for a daycare centre for your child where you can engage in our early learning workshops, we invite you to visit our childcare centres across Sydney by contacting us today.
