This week at our Ermington Childcare Centre, our little learners in the Honeypots have been discovering and exploring their senses through the Creative Arts. Our little learners have had the opportunity to explore art through various learning areas including science, cultures and more.

The Honeypots continue to develop their creativity at daycare through the creative arts by extending their learning through paint, play dough activities and more. Our Honeypots began the childcare week exploring the moon through painting where children had the opportunity to use their senses e.g. touch to feel the moon that they had created. This experience further encouraged children to explore their senses and develop their fine motor skills. They also developed their knowledge of colours, built new skills and used their imaginations to enhance their childcare learning opportunities.

At Active Kids Group Childcare Ermington, our Honeypots continued to develop their emerging knowledge about our Nation’s Indigenous Australians through their arts experiences. Through using natural resources, the children developed their respect for diversity and extended their learning using sources from their natural environment. Our little learners used the colours of the Aboriginal flag to create their artwork. Furthermore, children continued to explore their senses through an Aboriginal inspired sand drawing activity. Using their hands to explore and replicate the symbols in the sand.

Through our early learning science activity, the honeypots also learnt through leaf chlorophyll art where they were able to learn about scientific factors and simultaneously participate in a hands-on experience.
