Rose Bay Service Coordinator

I started my journey as an educator assistant for a French Creche whilst studying a Bachelor of International Studies with a major in French. During this time, my passion for educating and caring for children grew rapidly. I finished studying my bachelor and joined AKG in the Learn and Grow team as the French teacher. I loved it, I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my passion with the children and watching the children grow in their knowledge of French and I instantly craved more of a desire to be a part of caring for the children.

With the Covid lockdown in 2021, Learn and Grow was unfortunately put on hold, yet this created a pathway for a new and exciting opportunity. This was a year that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally as I began working as an educator at Vaucluse Cottage full time. I instantly fell in love with being able to both care and educate the children and develop strong relationships with both the children and families. During this time, I had the opportunity to become Toddler room leader whilst studying my Cert III and took on the role of Second in Charge. This then led me to the opportunity of Coordinator Role at Vaucluse Cottage.

Since working with AKG, I am grateful for the incredible amount of generosity, encouragement and support I have received. I am passionate about creating genuine and strong relationships with the children and families and bringing the children’s home into every aspect of the service, to ensure it is their home away from home.
