What to Expect from Boori’s Performance
In his performance, Boori Monty Pryor shares his unique perspective on the world through humorous tales, Dreamtime stories, and instructive anecdotes. He punctuates his storytelling with the music, dances, and language of his family and his home. This combination of traditional elements with contemporary stories helps children better understand both the past and present culture of First Nations People.
About Boori Monty Pryor
Born in Townsville, North Queensland, Boori’s heritage stems from the Birrigubba people of the Bowen region and the Kungganji from Yarrabah, near Cairns.
Boori’s works have received numerous awards, including the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year Award and the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards for Children’s Fiction. His life and work have been featured in the ABC series “Wrong Kind of Black,” which is also available on Netflix.
